Castle Bran (Dracula's Castle) - RomaniaA short 5-day trip to Romania gave me an interesting insight into the disparity between the rich and the poor, with the country still trying to escape it’s medieval past.

My trip started in Bucharest followed by a snowy train ride through the Carpathians into Transylvania to visit Castle Bran (Dracula’s Castle), Brasov, Prejmer and Sighisoara. The Carpathians were a delight to venture through, the green lush countryside slowly being covered in the cold white snow specks as I headed further in. The cities showed their medieval riches hidden within fortified walls of centuries past. However, in stark contrast, looming on the outside perimeters, poverty stretched for hundreds of miles with gypsies and peasants lining the countryside in dire need of help…

Cambodia – The Collection

Local Children - Killing Fields of Phnom Penh, CambodiaSat in between Thailand and Vietnam, the Kingdom of Cambodia sits rebuilding itself following the exploits of the Khmer Rouge in the 70s and 80s.
En route from Thailand to Vietnam, my brief visit to Cambodia gave me the opportunity to capture an array of images including the beautiful architectural ruins of Angkor in Siem Riep, the dusty dry rural landscapes that stretch from one end of the country to the other, a vision of the precarious ecosystem of the Tonle Sap as well as images of inner city life in Phnom Penh and its people…
